Bridal Shower

Shower - March 17th

We celebrated St. Patrick's day by having a Bridal Shower...for me.
It was beautifully planned by Audrey Merrill with assistance from so many wonderful friends.
Thank you all who attended! It was a wonderful time!

I really enjoyed my wedding cake topper! :) That made me smile.
Jenifer Peacock made a beautiful cake for me, too. Delicous, too.

All that attention focused on me was a bit weird...
But I did get gifts, and really who doesn't LOVE gifts?!
I'm one lucky gal! I have great people who surround me...and I get to marry Antonio next month! WOW! :)

Farewell & Happy Birthday

We had a friends dinner to celebrate Deece turning another year older.
It was also a "return to us soon" party for Antonio since he was leaving town.
It was a fun evening. Antonio made tortilla espanola, and I made Gorditas.
For dessert, we enjoyed Lyn's german chocolate cupcakes.

Ensaladilla

Ensaladilla is a really delicious form of potato salad.
It's much more extravagant, actually. It has the regular potato salad stuff, but it also has tuna, crab meat, olives, roasted red peppers. Antonio and I worked together on this meal. I think we did well. ;-)

Basketball time

When in El Paso in January, Antonio and I joined my mom, sister and brother in law in attending the first basketball game that Noah (5) and Sebastian (4) were playing.

They were so cute and fun to watch.

There sure is a lot of traveling going on, but they'll learn those rules soon enough.
In the meantime, they are having a great time.

In Ciudad Juarez Mexico... as my migraine was in full force!

There I was with a migraine in Juarez.
The idea of getting back in the car was not fun.

Luckily, the migraine soon took care of itself and me.
And we were back to shopping in no time.

a GREAT 2006, indeed!

2006 Highlights

It has been a wonderful year.

Even though I have not seen loved ones as often as I'd like, I was able to see each member of my immediate family at least once this year. With some in San Antonio, College Station, Arlington, El Paso, previously Minnesota, and now Tucson, seeing all of them doesn't often happen, so I feel truly blessed. I was even lucky enough to meet Sofia - the newest family member. She's simply adorable.

As most of you know, Antonio has left the comfort of Sevilla, Spain to spend several months in Utah. It has been splendid having him around. He is definitely at the top of my many blessings. I actually get to see him every day! AND previously, the most time we'd spent together was two weeks. We're about to double that! How exciting! He's also caught the snowboarding bug. He's gonna surpass me the next time we go...but then again, that's not hard to do. :)

On to travels: I went to Spain in April! That was a wonderful trip. See my April archives. We spent a few days in Granada and MatalascaƱas but most of our time was in Sevilla.
I was also able to go to El Paso, Phoenix, Tucson, and Dallas/Arlington. Wonderful trips!
It wouldn't feel right to not mention another couple of trips: I've also had a few trips to Springville, UT...to visit my twin...Wendy Baker. :)

Thank you for your friendship and for adding to my life!
I wish you the very best in 2007!

a visiting Janelle

Janelle now living in New York came down for a few days during the Holidays. Good to see you, Janelle! Posted by Picasa

Gingerbread House construction

This was Antonio's first Gingerbread House! Not that I've had much practice...I've only made a few of them. This was a fun activity...spend at the Samples home.

Move Networks Company Party!

This is Tosh & Kristin. They were courageous enough to sit with me and Antonio. I even volunteered Kristin to be my Vanna. Thanks, K!
I got into trouble with some... mainly Dave because I told him business casual was not JEANS. His wife saw this as the perfect opportunity to buy him some really nice dockers.

Well, some people showed up in JEANS... and Dave was not a happy man... Posted by Picasa

Company Christmas Party

This is us, setting up some final touches before Move Networks employees arrived at the Christmas Party. This year we had it at the Courtyard Marriott in Provo. We had a very nice time...and I won a couple of VERY cool gift certificates. What were the chances of us walking away with the GRAND prize! Posted by Picasa

Making tortilla espanola...

Here is Antonio...cooking for me. :)
This was one out of two tortilla espanolas he has already made since he's been here. YUMMY stuff. Posted by Picasa

Our tree.

This is the tree that Antonio and I decorated a few days after he came into town.

The angel on top is one of my favorite ornaments given to me by an old roommate. Posted by Picasa

Brookers & William.

You can't really see how cute little William is...but take my word for it. He's adorable - a gentle soul. This is Brooke after her recent perm. I liked it! Posted by Picasa

Slade relaxing from a hectic life...

Here is Slade...just chilling out the day after Thanksgiving. I think he was enjoying his alone time. Posted by Picasa

Diana & Anne

I've called Tammy my Anne of Green Gables for many years now. I guess that makes me Diana. :)

I flew to Phoenix in November for my nephew Phillip's baptism. Tammy drove me to Tucson...the good friend that she is.

Isn't she gorgeous? She's available! Posted by Picasa

Good Friends

This picture was taken in Jenifer's kitchen the day of Stacey's baby shower. Valerie was a little sick that day. She'll probably kill me for posting this picture...

Chocolate Fountain Fun

In October and again in November we had two great parties for two dear friends! We used the the Sevy chocolate fountain for Valerie's baby shower AND Stacey's, too. Valerie gave birth in November to Benjamin...and little Logan is due any day now. Posted by Picasa

Veronica with Elissa, Merrily & Kris

This was a very special evening. We had our semi-annual Sugar House Relief Society Leadership meeting this night. I love working with these wonderful women. They teach me a lot. (Photo taken in November). Posted by Picasa

PARK CITY - FREE CONCERT!

August 12th was good times in Park City.
Some Irish-American band was playing and they were great. Some of us danced and danced until we could no longer do it.

We were there to celebrate Ward's bday. It was truly a fun way to celebrate. Posted by Picasa

Getting Together

This is a picture of LaMar & JoAnne Palmer with me, Jenifer, Val, Tim & Wilmer.

We had such a great time getting to know these friends a little better.

The Garden

This year, I lucked out because Will wanted to share his garden space with me. I've made some delicous mint iced-tea, plenty of salsa, fresh basil pesto, and calabacitas from a combination of Will's garden & Brooke's. Posted by Picasa

Nicole Sevy's Shower

In early July, we had Nicole's shower! Helena Chloe Sevy-Guitierrez came a few weeks later...and she is oodles of adorableness. (is that word?) :)

It was hosted at Will's house. Brooke and I were in charge of all the goodies for chocolate fountain dipping. We had a great time. Posted by Picasa

This is one of my favorite shirts.
"I like to twang on my gee-tar".

Dainon has probably sent me a link to buy this shirt at least three times, and I STILL haven't bought it for myself. ... one day, perhaps. Posted by Picasa

A visit in early July

In early July, my friend Plewe came to visit me. OK, fine she came to visit her family and a whole bunch of friends, but I was very happy to spend time with her! :)

Dainon took this shot of us. We were at the Gallivan Center enjoying a free concert. I don't remember the name of the guy we saw...but it was fun! Posted by Picasa

Sarah Ward at Utah Arts Festival

This year Sarah Ward made some nice summer money at the Utah Arts Festival.
It is always a fun fun thing to vist with my friends. We walk around in the heat, enjoy some delicious food and sit on the grass gabbing and listening to whatever band we happened to pick. Quite the nice summer activity.

Elissa at our service project

In June, the Sugar House Stake had a service project. AND we had a GREAT time! It was fun to get together and see what we could accomplish by spending a few hours together.
